Acts 2:40-47

“With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, ‘Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.’ Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:40-42 (NIV)

“All the believers were together and had everything in common.” Acts 2:44 (NIV)

“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” Acts 2:46 (NIV)

1. WHO WAS THIS NEW FAMILY?

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.” Acts 2:42-43 (NIV)

2. WHAT DID THEY DO WHEN THEY CAME TOGETHER?

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer…All the believers were together and had everything in common.” Acts 2:42,44 (NIV)

• They devoted themselves to the Apostle’s teaching.  

• They devoted themselves to fellowship.  

• They carried each other’s burdens.  

• Breaking of bread and prayer.  

“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts.” Acts 2:46 (ESV)

“Praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:47 (NIV)

3. WHY DID THEY GET TOGETHER?

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Acts 2:42 (ESV)

• Commit your life to Jesus.

• Be baptized.

• Join yourself with the family of God.
