Ways To Invite
Never underestimate the power of an invitation! Sometimes all it takes is a simple invite to build a meaningful relationship and jump-start someone’s life change through Jesus Christ. We get that inviting someone to church may feel like a challenge, but it doesn't have to! Below we've included ways to help you invite others to Crestview:
Casually ask a friend, family member, neighbor, or colleague to join you at Crestview by giving them one of our invite cards. Cards are available to pick up at Crestview Information.
Send one of our shareable invites on this page to someone you know.
Text a friend and invite them to join you for a coffee or espresso at our Sacred Grounds Coffee Shop on Sunday mornings.
Share the Crestview Online link on your social media pages and ask them to watch, then tell them you’ll save them a seat when they’re ready to join you on campus.
Share any of Crestview’s posts on your social media platforms.
Having The Conversation
At some point, it boils down to putting Jesus first. Maybe you’re not sure what to say, or maybe you’re afraid they’ll ask a question you won’t have an answer for.
But you know what? Maybe it’s time to just start the conversation. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be authentic. If they ask a question you don’t have an answer for, “I don’t know, but I’ll find out” is a great answer!
Just get them talking. Tell them your story and listen to theirs as well. It's amazing what God can do in this moment and where He will lead your conversation. Try to say something like this:
"Hey, do you have a church? I'd love for you to join me at Crestview!"
"Would you like to attend church with me? I attend Crestview and we meet at [insert gathering times]. You pick the time that works best for you and we can go together!"
"My church has great music and relevant messages each and every week. If you would like to check it out in person let me know, or here's the link to our livestream. You can watch it from home to see how you like it!"
"I'd love to tell you sometime what God has done in my life. At Crestview, Jesus is first and I’d love to share more about that with you.”
But what if they say “No”?
At some point, we're going to get turned down, but that’s okay! You've started a conversation. You've started a connection. You've let someone know that you care. Now, allow God to work in their life. Don't get discouraged. Continue to pray for them and try again later.
“What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:5-6 NIV (emphasis added)
