1. HOW LOVING YOUR CITY BECOMES A MOVEMENT OF SHARING CHRIST’S LOVE.

“And Saul approved of their killing him. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him.” Acts 8:1-2 (NIV)

“But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.” Acts 8:3-4 (NIV)

  • God blesses you so you will be a blessing.

2.  MISSION IN OUR CITY IS VITAL.

“And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.” Jeremiah 29:7 (NLT)

“When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed.” Acts 8:6-7 (NIV)

  • Overcome Barriers 

“Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there.” Acts 8:5 (NIV)

“So there was great joy in that city.” Acts 8:8 (NIV)
