Hebrews 11:8-16

  • Where has God blessed you, and what does He intend for you to do with that blessing?

“Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’” Genesis 12:1-3 (ESV) 

1. HAVE YOU HEARD THE CALL OF GOD?

 

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.” Hebrews 11:8-9 (NIV)

  • God comes to you asking for total surrender.

  • Have you responded to God’s call personally?

2. WHERE IS YOUR SECURITY?

“For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” Hebrews 11:10 (NIV)

  • Are you all in with God?

3. WHAT DOES GOD INTEND FOR YOU TO DO WITH WHAT HE HAS BLESSED YOU WITH?

  • God never calls you to give what you don’t have.  

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8 (ESV)

  • Where is God calling you to follow that you just need to surrender to Him?
